Analytical services from dried blood spot (DBS)

Our core competency is dried blood spot analysis using high-performance LC-MS/MS technology. DBS samples are stable at room temperature, easy to ship internationally without a cold chain, and require only a small volume of capillary blood — making them ideal for remote and large-scale testing programmes.

Masdiag operates its own in-house IT department, giving us capabilities that go well beyond a typical diagnostic laboratory. We are able to offer:

DBS Quality Control App

One of our proprietary innovations is a mobile application for assessing the quality of dried blood spot samples using a smartphone photograph. Before a sample is even shipped to our laboratory, your staff or end users can photograph the DBS card with a standard mobile phone. Our app analyses the image and immediately evaluates whether the spot meets quality criteria.
